Review: Skinlab's Milk Peel Facial

Cleopatra knew milk was good for her skin – but maybe not why! SkinLab Milk Peel Facial's ultrasonic peeling system uses lactic acid – a gentle alpha hydroxy acid derived from milk products – to unclog pores and remove impurities and dead skin cells.

For a start, the beautician Rosie, did a 10 minute massage using a calming essential oil. This helped to relax the tensed muscles from my hectic lifestyle.

Thorough cleansing of the face before the start of the procedure.

Rosie applied milk enzymes on the face. Smelt like goat's milk to me. I could feel the moisture seeping into my skin.

Steam was infused onto the skin to open up the pores for extraction.

Being a beautician with a wealth of experiences, Rosie did a swift, thorough and painless extraction for me. No red marks were spotted thereafter.

Lastly, Rosie finished off with a rose and strawberry mask that allows the skin to rest and regenerate. It smelt so good. I fell asleep shortly after application of mask.

I am done with no makeup on.

Skin felt so clean, refreshed and glowing with radiance.

See how my skin glows like the sunflowers.

Skinlab The Medical Spa is currently offering the 90-min Milk Peel Facial at S$38 (usual S$158) in their newly opened Jurong Point branch.

Soft and Silky Tresses with Shiseido by Easels

My hair is the perfect accessory to complete the overall look.  The hustle and bustle of life and the constant use of chemicals on the hair, are the main culprits for my hair problems. In order to maintain my hair at its tip top condition, monthly scalp and hair treatment is essential to keep problems at bay.

When Wendy from Easels was raving to me about the amazing effects of the Shiseido Ultimate  5-step Reconstruction Treatment, I had to give it a try!

Products that would be used for the Treatment were displayed nicely on the trolley. Truly professional and premium.

Step 1: The designated Shampoo was mix with hot water. The mixture was whisked with a brush to become foamy.

The stylist applied the foamy mixture onto my hair. This removed all obstructive elements attached to the hair surface. Hence, hair felt very dry after washing off.

Step 2: My hair was considered low damaged as I did monthly hair treatments. In the solution, it contained an agent "Ion Navigator" which was uniquely developed by Shiseido. It helped to eliminate calcium ions pile-ups rooted deep inside hair while preventing re-absorption from taking place.

See the special gadget used to spray the solution to the hair. So cool!

This was doing deep detox to the hair. What? Even hair needs to detox too?

Step 3-4 was to inject repair agents into the hair with spatula. This would repair the damages to the surface of the hair. Lots of application and washing throughout the treatment:-P

The amazing triple-layer micro-coating cream would help to protect the hair from sebum, water (used for daily shampooing) and friction (static electricity).

Hair felt airy, shiny and smooth after it was blown dry. It was such a joy to touch my hair. The effect was comparatively like what you achieved with re-bonding. The entire treatment took an hour to complete.

Whilst doing my treatment, I was also enjoying my hot Milo and artisan cakes with compliments from Easels. The team at Easels paid attention to every little details. Knowing most customers will sit through hours for major hair overhaul or will rush to the salon after work, drinks and cakes were served on the house to curb the hunger pangs. I was truly impressed.

For a head of crown glory, do head down to Easels for a fun hair pampering time. Shiseido Premium 5-Step Treatment is now having a 20% discount off their usual price of $248 till 31 September 2014.  Just quote "Ms Oinkee" to enjoy the promotion.

Easels is a newly opened salon that provides a suite of holistic services to pamper you from head to toe. They are conveniently located at:

Where DREAMS come ALIVE

I was brimming with excitement when I received the invitation from Alive Museum.

Alive Museum is the original 3D visual illusion museum from South Korea. Spanning over 10,000sqft, it is the largest in Singapore. Decided to check it out on a weekday evening.

My first foray in a 3D museum wohoo! Alive Museum ensures that visitors have a great experience by providing all unique props needed for the picture to come Alive. All I brought was my trusty Samsung Galaxy S4.

Hello from the fridge!

So many celebrities kowtowing to me. I was feeling on top of the world. Do you spot Bruce Lee, Spiderman amongst the group?

I was truly awe inspired by the Museum's interior. The paintings were all flat 2-D paintings. However, the pictures turned to 3D after taking it at the designated Photo Point with the Smart Phone. Alive Museum's in-house talented artists  make use of various painting techniques to make exhibits look alive from a certain perspective.

The Big Baby in a Mommy's arms

Mermaid for the evening

Infinite Studio for infinity selfies!

Please forgive me....

Oh, a chocolate ice-cream cone? Oopsie

Muacks for Spidey

Come let's graffiti together

A Singapore Kick! Oh so smelly!

No! Don't eat me!

Love the wings!

Cat, you got another cat

Eerie enough?

Death sentence

Woo, that was tough!

 Canoeing was so easy!

  I could be a gymnast!

   Oh my! hahaha

Come and eat me!

Up up in the sky, to Niagara Falls

 Elly, you got me!

 Cheeky Elly!

Preparing for my first appearance into the SEA Games 2015:-P

I love this shot! It was the toughest for me!  I had to pretend to be sitting on the bench and patting the giraffe in my most relaxed self and smile......

  Our romantic boat ride

It was a fun-filled evening, trying out the different poses, somehow got a bit high from all these. I felt like I was back to my teenage days. Apparently 30% of their paintings will be changed every 12-18 months. Special exhibits will be displayed during Christmas and Chinese New Year. I will definitely be back on a regular basis. It is really a refreshing place for a date (especially for us who are married for a decade), a first date will be good too.....with the kiddos....the list is endless. It is a place for everyone!

Come on down to check out Alive Museum now.
