A hydrating facial treatment that incorporates the seven-step, Spanish Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) technique. The MLD massage helps to remove toxins and keeps the cells healthy. The lymph system is part of the body’s natural defence system. Massaging it will help the lymph system deliver nutrients to the cells as well as carry away cellular waste, bacteria and toxins. The massage also reduces facial puffiness - it alleviates fatigue as well as aids in all types of swelling from surgery to injury recovery. The lymph system carries water away, and with a facial lymphatic massage, you can experience a less swollen-looking appearance. Finally, the massage invigorates the skin, tissues and nerves to unveil an ageless appearance. It relieves stress in the body and awakens a more vibrant you.

I fell asleep quite quickly during the massage. Using specially-concocted aromatherapy oil, I felt relaxed instantly and just dozed off.

 

The therapist finished off the facial with a cooling cream mask which felt really rejuvenated.

Au Natura with Sculptra

Though I am 39 years old this year, I have always done firming treatments to maintain. Hence overall I still look acceptable except for the more obvious laugh lines.

It came to my attention when my face suddenly turned dry, peeling always, especially when I travel. For a period of time, I was on a constant dose of steriods to curb the rashes due to dry skin. Dry skin made my nasio-labial folds (smile lines) even more obvious.

One day, hub alerted me; "where are your chubby cheeks?

I was done in less than 10 mins. Doctor was swift in his jabbing. Not much pain experienced although I had minimal numbing done on my cheek area. Really a quick lunchtime fix.

How I look immediately after treatment? No downtime, I can resume my lifestyle right after that. All in all, it was only done in less than 30 mins. Numbing cream another 10 mins. Doc took about 10 mins only! 

My curiosity made me want to do a research on whether Sculptra treatment was really a no downtime one. Indeed, it is highly dependable on the doctor's skill. There were cases of bruises on the face due to multiple jabbing points. Hence it is very important to choose the best especially when it comes to the face.

Over the next three months, you will realise my face will get better and younger. Smiles lines bye bye. Dry skin bye bye. Welcome firm full cheeks. Sculptra will help to plump up the tiny depressions on the cheek areas.

Zell-V, to Shine from within

 

I was so excited to embark on a journey with Zell-V. Having heard about the product when it was launched in 2007, the amazing health benefits for overall well being, made me more excited when Zell-V invited me to visit their office.

 

I had to do a cellular analysis first to gauge my current health condition with Steffanie who was the professional in this. She patiently explained to me the various types of results after the analysis and also the causes too. Pray hard I would not be in the worst case scenario.

 

Thank goodness, my cells looked healthy. Round and not sticky together. Except for a few radicals which resulted from stress, lack of sleep and Fried Food! No more french fries. Steffanie highlighted to me the radicals could spread quite rapidly resulting in health issues.

Recently I was into the Koplina Jelly. They had 2 different flavours; peach and rose.

Take a break, have a RF

I truly believe in constant upkeep of oneself.  It will help to delay the harsh realities of time. For me, one of the ways is going for non-evasive facial treatments to maintain.

Checking out the RF facial treatment by DrSpa, by Dr Georgia Lee. A bespoke spa who only promised to use the best equipment and ingredients for their clients.

 

I was welcomed with friendly smiles, warm lights and birds chirping music. Such a haven of peace away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

 

Rooms looked neat and clean without being too clinical.

 

 

My feet was given a soak in the water with rose petals before changing into the robe. Comforter was thick, to ensure I would not feel cold during the entire two-hour treatment. The therapist started by giving me a deep cleansing on the face, followed by an extraction of the blackheads and blemishes. The main lead came on finally, the Radio Frequency, aka RF. She used the RF rod to go round the face, eyes and neck areas. It felt warm but not prickly. The session finished with a CO2 Mask. This was proprietary to the spa. It felt like a gel and was cooling. I was very fascinated when she sprinkled a fizzing liquid on the mask. It felt like pouring coke on my face. The therapist told me this would help in removing the mask. The mask made my face very radiant.

 

I would love to highlight the vanity corner in the spa. Especially after treatment, hair and face looked horrible. Having a well-equipped vanity corner with DR GL makeup range, hair-dryer, did make me looked all dolled up and not like a plain white sheet with messy hair.

  

 

A specially Dr GL concocted tea, named GlowCha was served. As you could see from the picture above, it came with lots of goodness. It was easy to drink too. How I wish they would sell in takeaway packs and I could experience such goodness daily:-)

 

The entire experience had been superb. I was able to relax, had a great nap and enjoyed awesome tea while slouching on the couch without having to worry about the girls coming to you to hard sell their packages. (enough!) I felt so rejuvenated and ready to embrace more challenges ahead.

 

Truly appreciative to Dr Lee and Evelyn for giving me the opportunity for such an awe-inspiring experience. Cannot wait for my next visit.

Sleep and Firm - Simply Love it!

To sleep and firm the face, it has always been on my wish list. When Laneige came out with this Firming Sleeping Pack, it was like a dream come true. Finally!

I started using it a month ago. It had a QQ jelly-like texture, unlike its ever popular Sleeping Pack, which was like cream.

You would need the given spatula to scoop out the Firming Pack, put it on your palms then apply it on your face and not forgetting the neck. Neck is often being neglected and signs of aging will show obviously if not well taken of.

 

Steps to using the Firming Pack:

• Cleanse your face thoroughly
• Apply your regular toner and moisturisers

Astering in the Spring

 

Going for a facial is truly a rare luxury.  With my busy schedule, it is hard for me to squeeze time out for a regular pampering session. 

 

Finally, I managed to find some time to visit Aster Spring, in JEM, Jurong East.  Coincidentally, Ms Charlotte Brockett who is the International Senior Training Specialist for Asia & New Zealand at Dermalogica and The International Dermal Institute happened to be in town.

 

I was so glad to meet up with Charlotte. Firstly, I was asked to fill up the form, stating my health and skin conditions.  Thereafter, she went through all the pointers with me patiently, explaining to me my skin concerns and remedies I might consider.

 

The rooms in Aster Spring were clean and the entire treatment was relaxing.  Oops, no pictures took, as I actually dozed off during the treatment.  Can you imagine how comfy I was?

Kelly the therapist, was very detailed and skilful.  Even extraction was pleasant, unlike my past experiences, it was painfully unbearable. After the treatment, Kelly gave me some sample packs from Dermalogica to bring home, to continue with my home care routine.

TGRF; thank god for Radio Frequency

Feeling so blessed I live in this modern age when we are being surrounded by so much creams, technologies to delay the signs of aging. 

As a woman in this generation, we are such multi-taskers. Time is really an essence. It is really great to have medical spas helmed by the aesthetics doctor themselves offering lunchtime fixes.

I am pleased to be invited to try SkinLab's new Radio Frequency Lifting treatment. 

It was a 35 minutes procedure, totally non-evasive. I was greeted by a warm, friendly therapist who explained the entire procedure to me before starting. 

The environment was clean and not clinical. She started by doing a thorough cleaning of my face, followed by a 10 minute relaxing head and shoulder massage with aromatherapy oil. Good to relax those tired muscles after a long day.

Thereafter, a cooling gel was applied to the face. This was crucial so your face would not get burnt by the heat from the RF and helped to cool the face too.

She concentrated on my right face, I could feel the heat slowly slipping in.  It was like a tippling feel on your face. It became hotter gradually but you could ask the therapist to reduce if you were not able to take the heat. I would halt her to avoid the area if a slight pierce was felt.

See the face after one side was completed. Left side appeared to be more taut. 

I am done! No filter, no makeup; only toner and sunblock applied by the therapist.

Face felt more supple and firm after the treatment. Even my fine lines under my eyes looked quite faint. 

Kudos to the wonderful therapist (she was shy to be named;-p) who did a terrific job for me and SkinLab who had given me the opportunity to experience this superb technology. Truly the sunshine who made my day brighter. I will definitely be back again.
